Twanny Farrugia is a qualified loss and grief worker, welfare
worker and educator with wide experience in community, welfare,
loss and grief issues. Twanny's own health, loss and grief experiences
and an understanding of childhood migration have equipped him to
empathise with people facing difficulties in life. Health adversities
such as a kidney transplant, mobility, vision impairment and premature
loss of significant family members have not prevented him from fully
participating in every day life.
Twanny has provided loss and grief workshops on various topics
ranging from disabilities to aged care issues for community based
organisations, local government and the non-profit sector. Furthermore,
he has gained a great satisfaction in assisting individuals who
have a disability, elderly people and those from Culturally and
Linguistically Diverse groups to reach their optimum potential as
individuals. Twanny is currently in private practice providing
support services in the Human Services sector.
(Presented technical papers on all the above issues at various
medical and general workshops/conferences/seminars)
